Dakore Egbusun is an Ijaw, born in Bayelsa State. She attended Corona Primary School in Gbagada in Lagos state for her primary education and then proceeded to the Federal Government College Bauchi, and to A-Z international, Ajao Estate, Lagos, for her secondary education. She has a Diploma in Mass communication, majoring in PR and Advertising, she is also a BA graduate from the University of Lagos where she studied.

She then became a television presenter, but in the year 2000 she ran into a movie producer, Emem Isong with whom she got a lead role in a film titled "Silent Tears", this led to several other movies, graduating her into a brilliant beautiful Nollywood Actress.

In 2007 she became the face of Amstel Malta, a sort of virgin beer made into a soft drink, common in the Caribbean and West Africa. She is happily married to Olumide Akande, a marriage union which was the talk of town on Sunday 16th January 2011.
