Her father’s dream was for her to be a Medical Doctor. Her teachers were however convinced that she would make a good mass communicator. She proceeded to Dallas, USA for her tertiary education where she obtained first and second degree in mass communication. On her return in 1987 she went straight into one profession she had always dreamt about. She became energy correspondent with the Daily Times.

Her first call in acting (Glamour Girls) came through her friend, late Jennifer Okere. Gloria’s dazzling performance at her first few recordings almost got her image into trouble. Even her father was upset with her because of her role in this movie. In the end, they got used to it and understood that acting is mere make believe.

A native of Abia State and married to one of Nigeria’s best actors Norbert Young.
