Tayo Amokade
Yoruba actor, Tayo Amokade, better known as Baba Ijebu, has said passion and desire to make people happy helped him discover his acting skills. A graduate with a National Diploma from the Polytechnic of Ibadan, he trained as an actor under Muyiwa Ademola.Amokade said that as a child, his passion for acting was second to none, even though no member of his family was an actor. He said he really had the passion for acting; and as a kid, he always goes to the cinema house near his house to watch films and his parents will go there to flog him, but that didn't stop him from going back the next day. When he was at home, he used to imitate some of the actors and even put on his father’s Agbada and cap, and start acting to make people laugh. “Later, he became a popular story-teller in his neighbourhood and kids will gather round him while he tells them different stories and fables. It was at that point that people began to see the potentials he had, but his parents were initially against his decision to become an actor.
