Sam was born in Isolo, Lagos into the family of six; three boys and three grils. He is the first born of his family. He hails from Ukwa East Local Government Area in Abia State. He discovered his talent first in music at the Assembly of God Church where he played different kinds of musical instruments before realizing he could also act.

He attended Faronbi Primary School Isolo. He moved on to Isolo Grammar School. Sam proceed to the University of Lagos where he had his first and second degree in Business Education and Advertising and Promotion Management respectively.

His first TV appearance professionaly was in Wale Adenuga’s Super Story titled ‘No pain No Gain’ in 2004. In 2006, he won AMAA award for the best up coming actor for the movie ‘Day of Atonement’.
