“Dumebi & Bitter Leaf Cynthia,” continues the adventures of “Dumebi the Dirty Girl” and concludes the “Dumebi in School” episode. This time Dumebi entered a speech contest hoping to win an all cash prize, however she suffered writer’s block and couldn’t get beyond the first sentence. She really wanted to win the competition so that Frank, her husband, would be proud.

Frank (Kenneth Okonkwo) hired a driver to take Dumebi to and from school. The day came when Dumebi ditched the driver in order to help her schoolmate, Onyeure (Regina Ojeogwu). Everyday that Onyeure walked to school she was robbed of her lunch money. Dumebi tackled the culprit and when Dumebi’s driver finally caught up with her, he found himself in the middle of a rumble.

The fight was just another incident that caused Frank to become fed up with Dumebi and he then sort solace from his ex-girlfriend, Cynthia (Nuella Njubiugbo). Cynthia was nicknamed Bitter Leaf by Dumebi, and apparently she turned over a “new leaf” since she wasn’t on the warpath as she was in the original movie.

The last straw came when Frank refused to allow Dumebi to display her class photo in the living room. For Dumebi, the picture represented her education but for Frank it represented how stupid she was.
